ABOUT GELA
"Founded in 2019 and officially established in 2021, GELA (Girls Empowerment for Leadership Association) is a dynamic and committed movement in the fight against sexual violence against women and girls, particularly in conflict zones in Cameroon. Our mission also includes the protection of human rights and the prevention of HIV/AIDS and STIs.

OUR MISSION
We actively work to empower young girls nationally and internationally, providing them with development opportunities and defending their rights. Our mission is to address major challenges such as:
- Promouvoir l’équité de sexe et autonomiser les femmes et jeunes filles
- Lutter contre les VBG, mariages précoces et forcés, prostitution, la propagation du VIH/IST
- Offrir un soutien administratif, juridique et psychologique aux victime de violences sexuelles
- Soutenir la scolarisation des jeunes filles en particulier en zone de conflit
- Plaider pour le maintien des droits fondamentaux auprès des intances nationales et internationales
